Objectives

By implementing the DECOY project, we aimed to empower first and second-generation female migrants through entrepreneurial opportunities, addressing their significant socio-economic exclusion in partner countries. Our goal was to make migrant women more competitive and skilled in the labor market, thereby improving their socio-economic status. DECOY focused on promoting autonomous learning, ongoing orientation, and digital education, providing a comprehensive support scheme by producing high-quality learning resources and practical orientation tools. Additionally, we aimed to foster transnational cooperation and a collaborative culture to create a modern, dynamic, and professional youth education environment within the partner organizations. We achieved these objectives through our work packages, including a Guide for female migrant entrepreneurs, a Toolkit for youth workers, interactive learning videos, an educational web platform, and extensive dissemination activities. These efforts aimed to support female migrants in their entrepreneurial endeavors, contributing to their social inclusion and economic empowerment, ultimately facilitating their integration and success within their new communities.

Background

The reason for the application of the DECOY project was to tackle the urgent need for entrepreneurial empowerment among female migrants, who are significantly affected by socio-economic exclusion within partner countries. Many obstacles severely limit their opportunities for integration within the formal employment sector within the partner countries. With DECOY we addressed these challenges by providing tailored support in the form of high-quality learning resources and practical orientation through the Guide for Female Entrepreneurs (WP2) and digital learning modules (WP4). Together with supporting youth workers in acquiring tools to assist female migrant entrepreneurs (WP3), fostering a comprehensive support system. The project served as a promotion of autonomous learning, ongoing orientation, and digital education, facilitating the establishment, maintenance, and development of start-ups by female migrants. This transnational cooperation within DECOY created inclusive, practical, and sustainable entrepreneurial opportunities for our target groups, ultimately contributing to the social inclusion and economic empowerment of female migrants not only within partner countries but also across Europe.
