The G. Marconi Technological Institute is based in Rovereto, an important industrial center in Trentino. When a great economic crisis hit the area at the end of the 1980s, the Autonomous Province of Trento reacted by launching the industrial and technical-scientific project of the Technological Pole, subsequently converted into the Mechatronics Pole. The training institutions (from EQF 4 to 6), the ITT Marconi, the Higher Education (ITS) and the University of Trento) found an immediate and natural place within it, which collaborate in synergy to strengthen the technical-professional education chain and employability. Many students of the institute come from the valleys and there is a significant commute.
