Objectives

The general objectives of the project were: 1) create on-the-job training opportunities for learners of personal care services; 2) update the skills of trainers in the care services sector. In relation to our organization, the objectives were: - Improve the skills and the training model offered to learners; - Structuring of specific programs that promote continuous learning; - Support the modernisation, attractiveness and internationalization of the ODF; - Increase participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, to actively participate in society and develop a sense of European citizenship and identity. The project invested in strengthening skills in the care sector; a rapidly growing sector in the regional and national territory and capable of offering new and qualified employment opportunities. Furthermore, the mobility experience abroad was an opportunity for renewed interest in one's training and personal development path, as well as cultural and linguistic immersion.

Background

We are a Training Organization and Employment Agency and we deal with Professional Training, with particular reference to the social-health sector and personal services. The socio-health sector appears to be a rapidly growing sector in our territory and in the national one, capable of offering vast employment opportunities, and which, at the same time, requires updated technical-professional and transversal skills. We also deal with Erasmus mobility projects and we have often been able to see how a mobility experience can make an important contribution to the development of the transversal skills so much appreciated by employers and can enhance the CVs of young students approaching the MdL, as well as representing an element of strong motivation in the continuation of the training course. For these reasons, on-the-job training experiences, i.e. training internships, have been developed for IVT learners in Spain, to strengthen their CV and, thus, better deal with the transition from the world of school and VET to that of work; at the same time, job-shadowing paths were developed for operators and teachers in the same sector, again in Spain.
