The "EURO_SCHOOL" Project has allowed the realization of specific objectives built on the real needs expressed by teachers and students, identified as priority targets of international action. The project has made it possible to: -improve teachers' skills in support of WBL-oriented workshop teaching for greater school-work liaison. - enable students to acquire technical and professional skills for the future integration into the labour market. -internationalize and modernize the Training Offer through transnational training courses and workshops. The implementation of transnational activities has fostered the development of management skills useful to expand the international dimension of the Institute, which, in fact, in 2023, has applied as partner to the Cooperation Project "Getting To Know European Cultural Values Along Religions" No. 2023-1-HU01-KA220-SCH-000161233.
Liceo "Leonardo" of Agrigento, has submitted the Project to meet the main needs identified in the school context; in fact, despite a strong tourism development, the activity rate for the population 15-64 years, among the lowest in Italy, fell below 50% during the Covid; companies in all sectors have started a new way of approaching the world of work, requiring new linguistic, digital and innovative skills. Aware of not being able to guarantee the development of the hard and soft skills required on the local and international labor market due to the difficulties of updating staff and educational programs, the School considered it necessary to work on improving the profiles of its students and updating teachers in the use of ICT and construction of WBL modules, creating a better connection with the world of work. Therefore, the "EURO_SCHOOL" Project allowed to work on the professional updating of teachers in order to adopt job-oriented teaching approaches and methodologies, vocational guidance for outgoing students and the development of school’s international dimension.
