Objectives

The specific objectives achieved through the implementation of “T.E.S.T.” were the following: - 24 participating students had the opportunity to develop hard and soft skills in the technical/technological, applied sciences and artistic/cultural sectors. - 7 participating teachers had the opportunity to strengthen their professional skills in planning on-the-job training experiences and evaluating their impact on the students' educational outcomes and on their job placement. Further specific objective pursued and achieved with “T.E.S.T.” was the one linked to the school’s desire to continue its process of internationalization of its Educational Offer, integrating it with professional training activities for VET learners on a European scale.

Background

The “Ettore Majorana” High School has been coordinating “T.E.S.T.: Transnational and virtual coopEration to improve the acquiSition of Technological and digital skills in VET system” (code: 2022-1-IT01-KA122-VET- 000072361), a good transnational mobility practice which lasted a total of 12 months (16.11.2022 to 15.11.2023) and involved 24 students and 7 teachers in mobility training experiences. The Institute, based in Termoli (Molise), operates in an area characterized by the high rate of youth unemployment (38% in 2020 and equal to 30% in 2022 - ISTAT 2023). Given the School's difficulty in organizing practical on-the-job activities in innovative working contexts, "T.E.S.T." arises from the need to provide students, through transnational mobility, with practical skills, in line with the current needs expressed by local, national and European companies, in the technical/technological, applied sciences and artistic/cultural sectors, and to equip teachers with tools for the implementation of WBL.
