Background

The Institute of Higher Secondary Education “V. BACHELET - G. GALILEI” situated in Gravina in Puglia (BA), carried out the project “ADVANCE IN UE: ADVANCE, sustaIN, continUE professional training”, started on 01/12/2022 and concluded on 30/11/2023 (n° 2022-1-IT01-KA122 -VET-000073410 - CUP CODE E81I22000190001). With this project the school wanted to offer its students of the 3rd and 4th classes enrolled in the AFM, SIA, Tourism, Mechatronics, Automation courses, a training and professionalizing opportunity abroad in order to enhance their technical, linguistic and transversal skills and facilitate job placement after obtaining the diploma. Specifically, the I.I.S.S. “V. BACHELET - G. GALILEI” had noted: on the one hand, an increase in the demand for qualified labor especially from medium-tech companies in sectors such as e-commerce, mechanics, and industrial automation; on the other, the presence of skills mismatch significantly in the Puglia region which often leads to emigration phenomena and impact the local industry at a high technological and digital level.
