Our project aimed to improve participants' professional and interpersonal skills. The activities implemented in our project aimed to allow students to experience the professional aspects common among European Union member countries through the Learning by Doing technique and to offer them a different perspective and an opportunity for personal growth. As for our teachers, the objective was to enrich the cultural heritage of the teachers and bring back to our Institute the best solutions that our European partner schools had implemented in turn. The objectives that the Institute achieved thanks to the implementation of “RE.ADY.for.EU” were: 1. Promote personal growth and the development of students' transversal skills through transnational training internship experiences; 2. Promote the job placement of new graduates by enhancing their level of professionalism in line with the current demands of the Italian and European labor market; 3. Strengthen the professional and teaching skills of teachers to raise the quality of professional training courses; 4. Promote internationalization and integration.
IIS Galilei Ferrari is a public high school. The main activities of the school are mechanical and electrical maintenance which is a specialization of the professional school and the fields of mechatronics, energy and logistics which are joints of the technical school. The school has signed an agreement with the local national health service and public and private universities to allow students to improve their skills in the biomedical and transportation design fields. The territorial context is industrial, there are many companies in the mechanical sector in the area. The “RE.ADY.for.EU - we are reADY for the EURope” project was a necessary tool for the “Galilei Ferrari” Higher Education Institute of Turin to respond to the needs for updating and improvement, with a view to internationalization of the proposed professional training offer. Furthermore, the School wanted to improve students' levels of learning and professional orientation, and enhance the employability of graduates. Among the teachers of the specific subjects, the need for updating on crucial issues for VET was found.
