In line with the European objectives on technological and industrial development ("Industry 5.0: Towards a Sustainable, Human-Centric and Resilient European Industry", EC 2021), the TALENT 5.0 project offered young participants the opportunity to verify and deepen one's curricular skills: professionalism in an Industry 5.0 key within one's study path, transversal, linguistic, green and digital skills. These objectives were pursued through an international mobility experience in Spain and Malta lasting one month for 20 fourth class students of the "Bernalda-Ferrandina" Institute. The project also promoted the comparison and transfer of good training practices by relating our VET system to the training and work systems of other European realities and contributed to the consolidation of the ECVET system and the creation of a European space for education in an Industry 5.0 key.
The challenges that the European manufacturing industry will have to face in the coming years will be inexorably linked to technological evolution and high-performance production systems. In this context, the Italian manufacturing production system and that, in particular, of the territory in which the "Bernalda-Ferrandina" Institute of Vocational Education and Training operates (province of Matera and Basilicata) needs, therefore, to capitalize on its own tradition and industrial vocation and to excel in the technologies that enable, innovate and spread competitiveness and employment. The detailed definition of the profiles of the skills and professionalism required, together with the creation of training pathways suitable to accompany the sector in governing the production change in key Industry 5.0 are, therefore, essential priorities for the manufacturing sector in the region concerned and, more generally, for our country.
