With the SmartEU project we wanted to achieve the following objectives: Obj 1: development of new IT and robotics skills to 21 learners [divided three 18 short and 3 long mobility (initially planned 4 long] in order to train more technical figures and reduce the mismatch between demand and supply of labour Obj 2: education to active citizenship by promoting sustainable development through the involvement of stakeholders and by increasing the professional, linguistic, digital and transversal skills of 21 participating students with a 27days +2 for short mobilities and 115days for long mobilities in Spain. Obj 3: improving the digital competences of learners, school staff and teachers. Obj 4: updating teachers' skills and knowledge to support the EU educational strategies and the emotional and social development of students. We wanted to implement mobility that is professional in content but humanly enhancing, capable of projecting our students and our Institute into a future structured on digital, sustainability and European-ness.
The Istituto Superiore 'Pitagora', founded in the 1970s, is located in Pozzuoli. The coexistence of multiple courses of study offers pupils the possibility of reorienting themselves towards courses of study that are more congenial and personal to them. Therefore, the Pitagora teaching staff is committed to adopting inclusive tools by observing and listening to the needs of all pupils in order to ensure the educational success of the individual. The context is represented by a low socio-economic and cultural status and among them are also students of non-Italian origin who do not encounter particular language difficulties, but who are often victims of discrimination. Many pupils from particularly deprived backgrounds do not have effective support from their families, who are alienated from the educational and training context. With the project Smart fEUture (SmartEU): ICT and Robotics for Sustainable Development - hereafter called SmartEU) our aim was to make education a means of social and professional development, thanks to mobilities with a focus on digital skills, active citizenship and educational improvement of our teachers.
