The EDIT - Eco, Digital, Inclusive Tourism Training project aimed to achieve several key objectives to modernize the tourism sector by responding to the needs that emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, we aimed to: - Increase the skills of partner organizations in designing quality training content, ensuring that it met the needs of the tourism market and local communities. - Facilitate the green and digital transition in the tourism sector by aligning professional training with European policies. - Promote sustainable and accessible tourism by preparing tourism professionals to meet new challenges and opportunities. - To build cross-border cooperation for the dissemination of an innovative training model at the European level, fostering sustainable socioeconomic development. In summary, through the EDIT project, we wanted to bridge the gap between the training offer and the emerging needs of the tourism market, actively involving managers and staff of tourism companies in the design and evaluation of new training courses, thus ensuring an adequate and timely response to the needs of the sector
In response to the critical needs of the tourism sector, accentuated by the COVID-19 pandemic, we designed and implemented the EDIT - Eco, Digital, Inclusive Tourism Training project. The project aimed to bridge the gap between training offerings and emerging market needs. This project aligned with European policies such as the European Skills Agenda and the Council Recommendation on Vocational Education and Training (VET), which emphasize the importance of upgrading the workforce for a green and digital transition. In addition, the project aligned with the Digital Education Action Plan 2021-2027. Our main goal was to modernize vocational education for tourism, prepare professionals for new challenges, and promote sustainable and accessible tourism. We put in place structured actions to design and create an education pathway that reflects the changing skills needs, involving managers and staff from tourism companies in the design and evaluation. In summary, the EDIT project was a key step in bridging the training gap in the tourism sector
