The objectives of the project were: - the development of knowledge about the digital world and the media of adult learners, in particular of parents and caregivers who must support their children in the socio-educational field; - the development of the skills of Adult Education trainers for innovative teaching in the ICT sector, aimed at adult learners with low skills. As regards adult learners, the project aimed to develop digital literacy, knowledge of the main social networks and the consequences and negative effects that incorrect use of the Internet entails, through the attendance of training courses at both a theoretical and practical level in Italy and abroad. For trainers, however, it seemed a priority to increase their training in a context of strong change, promoting job shadowing activities to observe the work of colleagues abroad, build relationships, exchange experiences and acquire new teaching strategies and training activities for the professionalisation of educators and the development of the capacity of providers of such education.
The range of activities offered places our APS in an intermediate position which sees on one side the audience of trainers, educators, operators who in the Adult Education context need effective tools to face the challenge of renewal and internationalization and, on the other, a greater number of adult learners in a disadvantaged situation for socio-economic, socio-cultural and/or geographical reasons and/or low skills, who access the services offered by the APS, including training courses training on digital skills aimed at the 'adult learners' target. In fact, the 'Action Plan for Digital Education' concerns everyone as the Digital Transformation permeates all segments of society and all ages. A part of citizens risks remaining excluded, especially those involving adults with low skills. On the other hand, trainers are asked to adapt their skills to the challenge of the Digital Transformation underway in Adult Education. One of the challenges of our APS was therefore to create training opportunities for adult learners, especially parents and caregivers, in order to reduce their Digital Gap, also through a mobility experience abroad.
