The IIS "Leonardo" was established on September 1, 2021, through the merger of two important educational institutions: the Leonardo State High School and the "Mazzei-Sabin" Higher Institute. It is located in the heart of the city of Giarre, in the province of Catania, and is attended by students aged 14 to 18, coming not only from the urban area but also from nearby municipalities. The school offers six different study programs, encompassing various branches in both the scientific and linguistic fields: Scientific High School, Scientific High School with Applied Sciences option, Biological Scientific High School with Biomedical specialization, Mathematical High School, Linguistic High School, Linguistic High School with ESABAC program. The school has proposed the project "Intessere: Influenza del territorio sull'essere" because it is linked to the needs of the territory. It aims to both promote awareness of the local territory and culture abroad and explore linguistic and cultural diversities for future integration into the European dimension, contributing to foreign language learning. Welcoming and including foreign or disadvantaged students in the project has been a fundamental mission for us (see attached document "Pai")
