By participating in the project, the teachers learned how to structure CLIL micro-modules in different disciplines; they acquired new techniques and ideas for teaching their subjects in English; they mastered the specific tools of the CLIL methodology, including through the use of digital products, to foster inclusion and the development of key competences. English language teachers, on the other hand, have perfected their language skills; they have acquired a wide variety of new teaching ideas and motivating materials ready for use in the classroom; they have increased opportunities for professional and career development; they have improved the quality of their work and activities for students. In addition, teachers explored topics related to environmental education and sustainability. The objective was to improve the skills of all staff in relation to the task that sees our Institute engaged in the teaching and dissemination of green behaviour, allowing the participating teachers to discuss and deepen the methodologies to be adopted to promote greater awareness and responsibility in the management and promotion of our territory.
The IC Statale ‘Padre Isaia Columbro’ includes 3 pre-schools, 3 primary schools and 2 secondary schools in 3 different municipalities. It operates a teaching curriculum that pays particular attention to the quality of classroom teaching through the use of innovative and inclusive methodologies. The CI offers, through its internal professionals, both English language training with the aim of activating CLIL courses in primary 5 and in secondary, and additional optional English courses. Our institute is a provincial referent of the Green Schools Network, and therefore includes in its curriculum actions aimed at the acquisition of the 17 goals of Agenda 2030 in order to share them with the other schools in the provincial network. As in concentric circles we try to establish comparisons on various topics with schools that are close (prov. Benevento), distant (Northern Italy) and very distant (Erasmus plus applications). This project is aimed at the Institute's teachers and non-teachers.
