Creating new, innovative or joint curricula or coursesInitial and continuous training for teachers, trainers and other education staffPreventing early school leaving and failure in education

Objectives

The main goal is certainly to find a "compromise" between the demands of school curricula, students’ motivations, and the need to develop their competencies. Of course we aim to: -improve the quality of education and staff's training; - enhance a European dimension in both learning and teaching and improve the organization and management of the training offer, entering into a process already underway and aiming to make it more European, so as to guarantee the students equal rights and share training and work opportunities with their European colleagues, overcoming geographic barriers and ensuring a fully inclusive education for the students today and in the future; - innovate education and involve pupils in a creative way, with integrated inclusive approaches and with new good practices; - support disadvantaged pupils and reduce early school leaving thanks to an insight into education and strategies employed in other countries.

Background

We applied for this project because we are really interested in structured training courses and job shadowing for our teachers and staff. This opportunity will improve the quality of our lifelong learning process and will have positive effects on our teaching methods and strategies and organisation of school. Our school, "Istituto Comprensivo F.lli Linguiti", is located in Giffoni Valle Piana, a small town famous for an international film festival, but still characterised by an average socio-cultural weakness. Our students come from a very heterogeneous background with a lower-intermediate context: they seem to be less motivated to learn pure content and more in need of skills for building their life paths. Hence we would like to learn new strategies, methodologies to improve our organisation and to try to make it more inclusive, to involve pupils in a creative way, with integrated inclusive approaches and with updated materials suitable for the different teenagers’needs.
