Objectives

Through the implementation of “A.R.C. Innovation and aggregation for a more Accessible, Responsible, and Conscious school,” the school has made significant progress in its commitment to improving education and fostering student inclusion. It actively promoted the continuous training of teaching staff, encouraging the adoption of innovative teaching methodologies and the acquisition of linguistic and digital skills. Furthermore, it has structured individualized paths for students with fewer opportunities or special educational needs, actively involving families for effective support. The school has also intensified collaboration with European institutions, contributing to the promotion of inclusion and active citizenship. In summary, the implementation of the project led to a more inclusive, dynamic, and future-oriented school environment.

Background

The comprehensive school Don Milani-Linguiti, former DD "Don Lorenzo Milani" is located in Giffoni Valle Piana, a municipality in the province of Salerno with a population of approximately 12.000 inhabitants, characterized by an agricultural and industrial tradition. The area hosts the renowned Giffoni Film Festival, which promotes cultural and cinematic interest in the region. However, unemployment, especially among young people, is a significant problem, with a percentage of 12.6% in the province of Salerno and 53.6% in Campania. The school seeks to provide adequate responses to socio-economic and cultural challenges, with an experienced teaching staff but faces increased turnover due to mobility requests and retirements. The socio-economic and cultural background of students affects academic achievement, with 4% of students leaving school early. The Covid-19 health emergency has highlighted the need to develop digital and management skills to face challenges such as Distance Learning.
