With this project we wanted to create paths to develop media competence based on communication and to support initiatives aimed at improving collaboration, information sharing and the exercise of citizenship through digital technologies (DigComp 2.1 Area 2). With this project we aimed to achieve the following objectives: • promote among the teachers involved the sharing of best practices adopted in the institutions of origin regarding digital citizenship and innovative methodological approaches supported by ICT with the aim of improving their professionalism • allow students, in particular those in a situation of socio-economic disadvantage, to benefit from an educational experience capable of promoting the acquisition of social and inclusive skills thanks to the comparison with different cultures and reflection on the themes of media education and of active citizenship
The “Scuola del Libro” Art High School in Urbino stands out for the uniqueness of its courses: Book Design and Restoration, Graphics, Audiovisual and Multimedia divided into Animated Drawing and Comics and Cinema and Photography. The number of students is around 550 and around 90 teachers and around 20 people who make up the technical, administrative and auxiliary staff work in the school. The educational offer provides for students (from 14 to 19 years) the higher education common to all artistic fields to obtain the State Examination Diploma (corresponding to ALevel or baccalauréat) and to give them the opportunity to attend the University. Given the specificity of its sections, some of which are unique in the national territory, our school is aimed at a catchment area that extends beyond local territorial limits, responding to multiple requests for professional artistic training, which find their place in reality different and distant economies. Based on the data collected in the Institute Self-Evaluation Report, our students belong to an average socio-economic context. However, the number of students from disadvantaged families is quite high.
