This training course aimed to help school staff strengthen their integration skills and train them in order to face the daily difficulties that are present in the classroom. Then it could organize all the material for students to enrich the quality of education in schools and equip young people to live and work successfully in a global society. All this raised standards, improved outcomes in teaching and learning and introduced and embed an international dimension in the curriculum. Participants enhanced techniques or skills that encouraged social and linguistic integration between students of different cultures and they promoted a multicultural school based on peace, tolerance and education for humanity values, to strengthen active citizenship. The project created a close partnership between the two Institutions and so they could continue with exchanging of different teaching practices and methods which will make lessons more attractive to students in the future.
The global situation in and after the Covid pandemic has influenced schools, learning and teaching in many ways. Our students are facing difficulties to study, to concentrate or to find joy in their lives, thus, the need for various types of support has grown remarkably. Participating to this training course, we found the ability to use positive psychology tools to improve students’ engagement, accomplishments, grit, and persistence. We aimed at supporting the development of cultural competences and mutual understanding at the same time. We aimed at sharing good practices in all teaching methods by applying positive psychology and optimism to the classroom. Schools are important contexts for such processes to take place, also from a developmental and socialpsychological perspective. Our goal was also to innovate new types of activities, which could be carried out with the help of ICT in our school. Because of the global situation, especially due to the pandemic, we seem to be better equipped and trained in using tools for online teaching and learning, online meetings, workshops and discussions.
