Liceo Marconi's Erasmus mobility aimed at meeting the educational needs of students and teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic. Teachers demanded new teaching methodologies to digitise teaching and stimulate students, with a focus on special needs. The language high school, founded in 2018, suffered most from travel restrictions. The aim was to attract new enrolments and expand the educational offer to create an inclusive and multicultural environment. The Erasmus mobility was to develop language and intercultural skills, promoting participation and independence of disadvantaged students. The aim was to give the high school a European dimension, recognising the importance of learning obtained in different Member States. The school affiliated with ANPAL to issue Europa certificates and ensure the validation of learning during mobility in Ireland, and worked to strengthen the European dimension of learning and teaching.
The Liceo Marconi, located in San Miniato in the town of La Scala, is characterised by its isolated location compared to other schools. Currently, it offers four addresses: the Liceo Scientifico, the Liceo Scientifico with an applied sciences option, the Liceo delle Scienze Umane with an economic and social address and the Liceo Linguistico. Being immersed in a varied local context, the area hosts numerous educational, social and sports institutions. The school promotes a culture of acceptance, democracy and equality, with special attention to students with disabilities. It also encourages peertutoring, active and creative learning and provides counselling against discrimination and bullying. Students actively participate in extracurricular projects and national competitions.
