Objectives

Through the implementation of the project, teachers will renovate their teaching methods to encourage the development of non-cognitive skills and enhance transversal skills (stress management, empathy, motivation, consciousness) in order to make students acquire a more positive and functional approach to different life areas. Teachers will apply these innovative tools for inclusive teaching when they return to classes, contributing to the improvement of teaching methods and of students’ academic results. The digitilization of the Institute also meets the needs of students and teachers. The acquisition of digital skills will be at the service of everyday life, teaching activities, training and learning-oriented activities. The challenge has to do with students’ skills, their learning, their results and the impact they will have on society as individuals, citizens and professionals.

Background

Our Institute is the only point of reference for values in a very complex territorial reality in which pupils are penalized by disadvantaged contexts. We participate in the KA1 action to train teachers aiming at acquiring and experimenting strategies to develop non-cognitive skills such as flexibility, creativity, problem solving aptitude, judgment, argumentation and interaction skills and integrate them in the school curricula. Furthermore, the teacher training plan aims at taking advantage of the potential of technology as a strategic support for change. In fact, ICTs are widely recognized as a needful and necessary support for the efficient management of education, social development, democratic participation in the knowledge society and in the respect of digital citizenship rules in pupils.
