We aimed to develop, through interaction with other European contexts, global citizenship competencies and intercultural understanding, the ability to interact critically with the complexity of the present world to be active citizens; increase awareness of global political and environmental issues in real-life contexts; develop cross-cultural skills for a critical approach to the use of the web and digital tools; foster research attitudes and cooperative learning in a European context by integrating physical and digital environments; encourage creativity, prejudice-free thinking and experience a sense of belonging to common humanity; develop attitudes of solidarity, respect for otherness and care for the environment; reflect on experiences, make decisions, and be responsible; promote interaction with educational contexts at a European level for the professional qualification of teachers: improve language skills, and carry out training experiences on topics consistent with the project objectives for innovation in teaching practices and the internationalisation of the curricula.
Our organisation and project framework focuses on tackling the evolving needs and challenges in the educational context. We interact within a school context that is undergoing a process of modernisation, in which we believe it is crucial to promote global citizenship and science-technology competencies, favouring the development of individuals capable of consciously, critically and responsibly participating in democratic life. To address the current challenges of our organisation, we aim to complement and enhance our efforts, through collaboration and comparison with other European schools, to foster innovation in teaching and learning processes, experiment with new teaching practices and methods to improve the learning experience and student outcomes, increase student and teacher motivation.
