The objectives of the project were to strengthen the internationalisation of the institute through foreign language learning, cultural exchanges and international mobility of teachers, pupils and school staff. The forced isolation of recent years has increased this conviction and made it a necessity. Staff mobility represents an important opportunity in order to guarantee students access to European initiatives. Emphasis was placed on developing and improving the skills of all school staff. Therefore it was necessary to increase management and organisational skills, to acquire adequate language skills in order to be able to manage projects both in the incoming and outgoing phases, through participation in dedicated courses focusing on these issues. With this specific action it was intended to provide a knowledge of the English language at a level of at least A2 to all the participants in the action, and specific skills in the operational management of the projects, starting from the first project phases up to the final reporting of all the projects.
The institute, established in 2012, consists of 10 school sites divided into four levels (infant, primary, secondary and high school) distributed throughout the Deruta municipality and has a school population of approximately 1000 pupils. The educational offer is characterised by the high professionalism of more than 130 teachers, about 40 non-teaching staff and the availability of welcoming and innovative learning environments. In 2021, an Erasmus working group was set up, consisting of the Headmistress, Administrative Director, teachers from the secondary and upper secondary schools. The working group arose from the need to train staff in order to be able to manage the Erasmus project activities independently, both from the point of view of planning activities and from an educational and administrative point of view. The project is part of the broader context of the actions aimed at improving the professionalism of teaching and non-teaching staff that the Institute puts in place also on the basis of the priorities it has set itself, which can be found in the main documents (RAV and PTOF).
