Background

The project "Clil + discovering Europe" is part of our school located in the city center of Florence and specialized in economic, technological and social education. The project has been proposed to enrich the teaching of students of the last 3 years of secondary school and of teachers, it is in line with the school program of improvement of the last 6 years, which saw the activation of the economic and social studies (LES) with the teaching of 2 foreign languages (besides English) and leaded to the increase in enrollments (+56% since 2018). With priority to 4th classes, the project offered: 8 student mobilities of 35 days in the multilingual sections of European partners and 3 additional mobilities of 1 week for "special need" students, 14 two-week mobilities in Ireland to study CLIL and 8 job shadowing mobility between France and Spain to observe CLIL lessons in other European contexts and the organisation of partner institutions in the context of Erasmus. The project has been in line with the PTOF (3 year plan of the Educational Offer) of the school, which has among its priorities, the internationalization of teaching, the study of foreign languages, the active citizenship, the sustainability and to open to Other Cultures.
