The use of integrated digital teaching in the last two years opened a debate in our school regarding the preparation of teachers in this area and the consequences on the learning and relational and personal well-being of students. If strategies for improvement and educational innovation are not activated, the risk of demotivation and disaffection increases, leading to the potential dropout of school children, especially the most vulnerable ones. The European dimension of the school of the future and the direct observation of good practices in the areas that we have indicated as the most problematic in our scholastic process have led us to set these objectives for the project: • Involve both pupils and teachers in mobilities • Implement technological, scientific and linguistic skills. • Promote school inclusion through knowledge of European realities and their related good practices • Improve awareness of environmental sustainability • Encourage learning by doing in different subject areas • Encourage the use of digital teaching integrated into the teaching - learning process, promoting its conscious use (blended learning)
Our Istituto Comprensivol includes 3 nursery schools, 5 primary schools and a middle school all located in the northern area of Capannori, a small town near Lucca in Tuscany. Our middle school has around 300 students aged 11 to 14 and 27 teachers. For many years we have been carrying out significant projects such as the practice of anti-bullying strategies, promoting the direct knowledge of the cultural and artistic heritage of our territory, raising awareness of environmental concerns and the study of healthy eating habits, also in compliance with fair trade issues . Children with special needs are always involved in these activities. Our school actively collaborates with local authorities to host and support events or seminars (projects with fair trade organizations and WWF, lessons with experts in local environmental issues, meetings with humanitarian associations such as Amnesty International). All these local projects have found their ideal implementation in the international projects that we have been carrying out for some years now, from the first KA 219 to the current KA122.
