Objectives

This project aims at improving management skills and teacher competences in order to offer to our learners challenging, motivating, interactive and inclusive learning environments. The project objectives are: 1. Improve organisational processes supporting education, in order to increase the environmental sustainability of our institute and to guarantee a high quality and inclusive education for all learners. 2. Enhance teacher competencies for effective application of CLIL methodology. 3. Build capacity and exploit the opportunities offered by digital technologies for teaching and learning.

Background

Our organisation is an “Istituto Comprensivo”, a public school comprising kindergarten, primary school and secondary school. It is located in a rural area, far from big town centres, and comprises 6 school complexes, some of which are little and isolated. Our students are disadvantaged respect to their peers living in cities as the cultural and social background cannot offer the same. We think that they deserve the same opportunities than city-bred children. The school mission is to compensate for this disadvantage, giving our learners the same chance to participate to the social and cultural life of the nation and of the EU. In this perspective, we are going to start an internationalisation process, creating and joining European school networks that could help us enhancing teacher competences and motivation, introduce new methods and techniques, improve management skills. This project can act as a springboard towards a more active involvement into a European and modern dimension of teaching, starting from boosting teacher competences and motivation to lifelong professional development.
