Objectives

The main purpose of the Erasmus Plus Programme at the Conservatory of Music “O. Respighi” in Latina is to expand educational horizons through the rigorous training of teachers and the enrichment of skill, knowledge and competence of students, to help teachers control their craft and to help graduating students enter the working world by actively performing together in trying to stimulate the students' sense of belonging to the European Union. The Erasmus plus Programme of the Conservatory of Latina also aims to improve the level of key skills and abilities of young people, including those with fewer opportunities, to promote the participation of students in democratic life in Europe and in the labour market, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity; to promote quality improvements in the field of socio-educational animation. It also aims to increase the international dimension of its activities in the field of musical education and at the same time acquire knowledge and skills, through mobility experiences, that can be used in the labour market. The aim of Erasmusplus of the Conservatory of Latina is also to promote the objectives and principles of development and foreign policy, including national ownership, social cohesion, equity, proper geographical balance and diversity. Special attention will be given to less developed countries, as well as disadvantaged students from poor socio-economic backgrounds and students with special needs. For this last purpose, the Conservatory is making every effort to meet the needs expressed by students with special needs by making additional funds available to them that can help these students integrate into European study contexts. The same attention is reserved for teachers with special needs: the Conservatory of Latina has supported and made available students who have accompanied the teachers to the host institutions. These students, paid with funds from the Conservatory, have supported the teachers during teaching hours and have helped them integrate into the university context of the host country. This has allowed us to achieve greater inclusion in the European educational world and to obtain a high degree of satisfaction from students and teachers of our institute. The possibility of using Erasmus Without Paper has allowed our institute to reach a goal that it had already begun to pursue for some time. All procedures have become digital, thus allowing us to almost completely avoid the use of paper in document production. The employees of the Erasmus office can finally send all mobility documents to the coordinator through the institute's Information Technologies channels and communicate with the Erasmus National Agency also using the tools made available by the Erasmus Programme such as OLA, IIA online, etc. The creation of long-term relationships with European partners has been achieved thanks to the Erasmus program. Our institute has just concluded participation in a project KA226 with the Universities of Cluj (Romania), Rzeszow (Poland), Eger (Hungary), Banska Bistrica (Slovakia) on teaching in the period of Covid 19. This project involved our students who had the opportunity to interact with foreign colleagues. The students had the opportunity to play in the presence of teachers from the partner institutions and in front of a selected audience of university professors demonstrating the excellent level of preparation they had achieved. This is the realization of a long-term project that our conservatory was finally able to achieve thanks to the means made available by the Erasmus program.
