The background of the University of Calabria project is to be found mainly in the long and positive experience acquired over many years in managing projects for the mobility of students, teachers and staff in European universities and companies within the framework of previous community programs such as LdV, Erasmus, Socrates and Lifelong Learning. The University actively participated both in the pilot phases of the Erasmus program in 1987 and in the subsequent phases of the Erasmus program for which it obtained the assignment of the various Erasmus University Charters (EUC) that followed until it re-obtained in 2020 the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) and the EPS - Erasmus Policy Statement for the entire duration of the Erasmus+ 2021/2027 program. In the previous community programs for education and training, the University, in addition to Erasmus mobility for students (credit mobility), teachers and staff, has also managed two Leonardo da Vinci projects mobility for students and graduates and Erasmus mobility for placement within the LLP program, in order to be able to offer its students, in addition to mobility for study, mobility for training work placements in European companies and organizations.
