The internationalization strategy of the governance established in 2022 assigns a central role to student and staff international mobility. It is considered increasingly important to provide participants with an international study/training/teaching experience in a European context in order to acquire greater autonomy, soft skills and a sense of belonging to the EU. The role of the Rector's delegate for the Erasmus+ Programme was established for the first time with the aim of directing governance strategies for all actions concerning the cooperation with other HEIs in the European context, also in the framework of the European University Alliance that the University joined in November 2023, UNITA - Universitas Montium. The increase in credits to be obtained abroad by Unibs graduates is a strategic objective, given the importance it also has at a national level and on the labor market. The University ranks among the first medium-sized universities for the employment rate of its graduates 5 years after obtaining the degree, and the added value of a candidate’s curriculum with at least one international experience is by now well known. The University invests in improving the education quality according to the needs of the labor market to promote the employability and entrepreneurship of its graduates, also through its master's degree courses taught in English that are a strong component of the University internationalization, both because they increase the attractiveness of international students and because they train graduates projected towards an international context, be it work or academic. As part of the Erasmus project, structural mobility agreements have also been developed with the award of double degrees with the University of Almeria, Hochschule Mainz, Nottingham Trent University, Sorbonne Université, University of Valencia and the newly added Université de Strasbourg. All mobilities within these projects are funded and implemented within the Erasmus programme, and are increasingly attractive. Double-degree programs strongly contribute to the internationalization of the University as mobility students, once they graduate, are counted among the international students of the University (graduate students with foreign qualifications) in all national and regional surveys. To support mobility and achieve the objectives, the services offered to both outgoing and incoming students have also been strengthened and improved. As for outgoing students, improvements have been introduced through the simplification of administrative procedures, the organization of several information meetings and Q&A sessions and above all through important additional financial support. To encourage participation and promote the inclusiveness of students in situations of economic difficulty, the European scholarship is integrated with a University or ministerial contribution which is related to the student's family income: from a minimum of 180.00 EUR per month to a maximum of 650.00 EUR per month. To support the participation of international students enrolled at our University in mobility projects, particular attention is paid to communication through specific info sessions in English, the translation of all information into English (emails, vademecum, website, visa application support, insurance policy statements). Participation in the Erasmus program is an element that international students take into great consideration when choosing to enrol in a European university, as it represents a unique opportunity. During the promotion and international orientation events the program is widely explained, including the double degree programs which are particularly attractive for international students. They often have great difficulty in understanding and following the complicated administrative procedures, but for this very reason the office has implemented additional and almost personalized support so as to best enable them to choose the receiving partner and in the correct compliance to administrative procedures.
