Objectives

The University of Milan, Italy (UNIMI) strongly supports the Erasmus+ Programme, which holds a key role in its internationalisation strategy. KA131 represents one of the main actions, as thousands of students, trainees and staff benefit from it every year. The advantages of spending part of one’s studies, internship or career abroad are already widely recognised in Unimi’s community. With the programme 2021/2027 several new notions have been introduced gradually. The University of Milan wanted to go beyond the undeniable benefits of going abroad: through the Call 2022, the stress was further put on educating all the participants on European values. Therefore, Unimi took many actions towards creating a culture of respect for the environment, democratic participation, digital transition, language skills and civic engagement. When deciding every new steps, the commitments made under the ECHE were always the guiding principles we followed. This noticeably helped us progress in many areas, leaving room for further improvement in the future. The University of Milan embraces diversity and inclusion and aims at providing access to the Erasmus programme to as many participants as possible, by providing inclusion support and by disseminating new forms of mobility, such as the BIPs.
