The overall objective of the SOON - Students mObility cONsortium - project was to strengthen the relations between higher education and the world of work, starting from the occupational needs of the Sicilian market and ensuring the alternation between theory and practice in the European context. The project pursued two objectives: 1) The strengthening of the mobility of students, recent graduates and PhDs in order to increase the employability of the younger generations, their self-entrepreneurship, increase their self-esteem and foster the development of transversal and basic skills (organisational; linguistic; relational; etc.). It was also intended to foster the development of a sense of belonging and adherence to the founding values of the EU, encouraging the process of internationalisation. 2) Support for staff mobility for training purposes in order to: improve the technical and professional skills of teaching and non-teaching staff by encouraging the development of innovative learning methods; support the creation of transnational and transdisciplinary curricula and courses and ensure the exchange of good practices in higher education and training systems.
