Six years after the accreditation of the Mobility Consortium coordinated by IFOA, the project represents an important further step that contributes to the consolidation of the internationalisation strategy of the ITS curricula and of the higher education training programmes of the foundations part of the Consortium. As it is well known, since 2018 IFOA has been coordinating a Mobility Consortium, made up of 6 ITS Foundations from Emilia Romagna and 1 ITS Foundation from Tuscany, to which an eighth Foundation from the Tuscany region ‘ITS Prime Tech Academy - Mechanics system’ was added in November 2023. The enlargement of the consortium is a demonstration of the growing awareness that is developing within the ITS Foundations, which are focusing more and more on the internationalisation of their study paths, which are still less attractive and less well-known compared to the more popular and widespread three-year University degree courses. Following the positive and appreciable results obtained with the student and staff mobilities financed in the previous calls, also in the 2022 call, the ITS Foundations have decided to rely on an expert and reliable partner such as IFOA for the overall organisation of their students' mobility. By combining the ITS course of classroom training with a training period of internship abroad financed by Erasmus, the Foundations manage to become more competitive in attracting candidates and contribute enormously to the enhancement of the transversal, linguistic and soft skills that can facilitate the employability and stable entry of their students into the world of work, skills that can only be acquired through an experience abroad. For some years now, the Foundations have been aiming to realize mobility internships abraod for at least 10% of the total student population: for almost all ITS Foundations of the Consortium the internships abroad coincide with the curricular internship normally scheduled at the end of the first year or, in some limited cases, the final internship scheduled at the end of the second year. For each mobility realized, the Foundations add to the Erasmus grant, other additional resources in order not to burden the students' families. As a matter of fact, students on mobility are fully financed, partly with the Erasmus grant, plus supplementary fundings from the Foundations used to cover the matching costs for the search of the hosting companies, the tutoring and monitoring, the accommodation, the flights, medical and third party liability insurance for the entire duration of the mobility. Only the costs of subsistence and local transport remain in charge to the students. At the time being, it is not feasible to growth significantly in students' mobilities, since for the Foundations part of the Consortium, growth in numbers is strictly dependent on the availability of additional resources to supplement the Erasmus grant.
