The primary objective of the Erasmus+ 2022 project was to offer internship opportunities abroad to bachelor, master and doctoral students, both during their academic career and immediately afterwards. A secondary objective was to increase the participation of the IUSS at European level, also facilitating the mobility of academic and research staff for training and teaching activities. Finally, the project aimed to strengthen the international activities of the IUSS, whose mission was to contribute to social progress by training young people capable of facing the challenges of development and generating new knowledge to ensure a sustainable future. The first objective was achieved with remarkable success: all the funds allocated for student mobility were fully utilised. The result was a 25 per cent increase in mobility compared to the 2021 call, which was also supported by an amendment providing additional funding. Academic and research staff involved in the mobilities were able to share their expertise with colleagues abroad to develop collaborative activities aimed at achieving the programme's objectives. The mobility of PhD students focused on cognitive sciences, the mitigation of seismic and other natural hazards, critical issues such as climate change and sustainable development, supporting the country, Europe and the international Community in identifying appropriate strategic choices.
