The project stemmed from the University of Bergamo’s internationalisation strategy, which identifies the Western Balkans as a priority area for cooperation. Collaboration with the University of Shkoder was already well established, but the KA171 project made it possible to expand it with specific objectives; with the Universities of Tirana and Epoka, on the other hand, a pilot phase was launched that contributed to mutual growth in teaching, research, and internationalisation. In particular, the project aimed to: - promote the mobility of students and staff as a concrete tool for academic, linguistic, and intercultural enrichment; - foster the development of new teaching and scientific competences, with a direct impact on the educational offer and research quality; - consolidate relations with partner institutions, already initiated in previous years, in a spirit of mutual trust and joint pathway building; - support inclusion and equal access to mobility, especially for students from disadvantaged backgrounds; - strengthen the international visibility of the University of Bergamo, also paving the way for new future collaborations.
