The implementation of KA171 projects as well as the development of new collaborations with non-European institutions are part of the internationalisation policies adopted by the University of Sassari (UNISS). Study, traineeship, teaching and training opportunities abroad are encouraged as they contribute to improve the professional and academic skills of all participants, they facilitate the exchange of good practices and enable the acquisition of specific sector-related knowledge. The interest in reinforcing cooperation with Latin America, as described in the University's Erasmus Policy, is strategic to promote student and staff exchanges as well as the design of double degree or joint study programmes, thanks to the presence of a large Italian community in both Brazil and Uruguay. At the same time, UNISS also aims to extend exchange opportunities with institutions located in geographically closer areas, such as Georgia, which, in specific fields such as medicine, can help compare different approaches, thus improving the skills of prospective doctors.
