The University of Catania considers internationalization a fundamental role in defining and implementing its strategic plan. Within its internationalization policies, the Erasmus+ program plays a key role in strengthening international cooperation, increasing incoming and outgoing student, faculty, and staff mobility, and enhancing and expanding collaboration with foreign partners. The implementation of the KA171 project with Albania is part of the University of Catania's internationalization strategy, specifically with the aim of extending the scope of its internationalization process beyond Europe and intensifying and strengthening collaboration with Albania, a country of special interest given its historic ties with Italy and its geographic proximity. The implementation of this project, which was inspired by the International Credit Mobility project already implemented in the two-year period 2019-2022, has helped strengthen existing ties with Albanian partners, increasing the University's visibility and attractiveness, all elements that further favor the increase in the number of international students enrolled at UniCt.
