Objectives

Through this project, the University of Bologna aimed to strengthen its international dimension in line with its Strategic Plan 2022–2027 and the Erasmus Policy Statement. The initiative supported 181 mobilities of students, academic staff, and administrative personnel, with significant impact at individual and institutional levels. Key results were achieved in joint and interdisciplinary research through the mobility of PhD candidates, medical residents, and teaching staff. The project also had a strong impact on international cooperation, particularly in several African countries, where the involvement of local stakeholders beyond academia contributed to the development of networks and joint initiatives. It engaged universities with different levels of experience, promoting the inclusion of newcomers and institutional development in strategic regions. These actions helped UNIBO consolidate its role as a strategic partner in non-EU contexts, in line with major international initiatives such as the UNA EUROPA alliance and Transnational Education (TNE) projects supported by Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
