The project 2022-1-IT02-KA171-HED-000077240, carried out within the framework of the COMMO consortium coordinated by UNIMED, involved 14 Italian universities and 18 partners in Albania, Kosovo, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. The initiative aimed to strengthen academic cooperation between the two shores of the Mediterranean and the Western Balkans, consolidating existing partnerships and establishing new ones, including with universities undertaking their first experience of international mobility. The main objectives were: to contribute to the international dimension and modernization of universities; to support students and staff in developing linguistic, intercultural, and professional skills; to promote a deeper understanding of the cultures of the host countries; and to simplify the administrative and organizational management of mobility. Through these actions, the project strengthened the internationalization strategies of the participating universities, expanded collaboration networks, and promoted common European values, fostering a sense of belonging to a broader academic community and contributing to the overall improvement of the quality of higher education.
