Objectives

The project aims to build a network of schools, their stakeholders and local institutions to help construct a European school space able to prepare for increasingly GREEN jobs. The approach used by the partner schools is based on an innovative action-oriented pedagogy to allow learners to develop knowledge and awareness and to work towards transforming today's society into a more sustainable one. The companies supporting the project become allies of the school to bring in new motivated and trained young people and thus initiate real change from yourself. The students from the four schools experience sustainable development in action by creating collections with up-cycling through a global approach while using a new pedagogy which is the establishment of a "MOTHER" COMPANY following the creative process. Consequently learning environments can be created in which students learn what they live and experience what they learn. The cooperation among schools, students, teachers and participating organizations was intended to foster opportunities for young people to empower each other through knowledge, skills, values and transformative attitudes.

Background

Because it was the only way to build a European dimension by developing key competences like capacity to learn new skills, active citizenship, civic and social competences, sense of entrepreneurship, cultural awareness and expression. Although there is an increasing number of projects and programmes related to environmental sustainability issues in European schools, these are often initiatives that remain limited in time and scope. Thanks to this project we have tried to work together in four European schools in a non-isolated and self-referential way by incorporating environmental sustainability in several fields in a systematic way and with a broad discussion with businesses and institutions. With this project of ours we believe we have contributed to developing the skills and school competences needed for the green transition in the right way.
