It aimed to raise public awareness of climate change issues and encourage the search for solutions through 21st-century digital skills and innovative teaching approaches. It promoted the development of students' ICT skills, as well as their personal and social skills that are not often developed through normal classroom teaching: creativity, teamwork, etc. The ITEC “Designing the Classrooms of the Future”strategies encouraged students to work on real-world problems throughout the project. The aim was to: improve the quality of teachers' digital teaching and learning methods Provide students with the opportunity to use new technologies appropriately Enable students to get to know their European peers in daily life: comparing different realities Provide the opportunity to integrate technological knowledge with other disciplines Guiding students in research on local environmental issues and collaborate with environmental associations Creating links between partners and developing innovative minds Making each participating institution more knowledgeable and open to other European institutions/projects Creating useful products within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 partnership with the integration of local institutions
We believed that our project could provide enrichment and a significant educational contribution to the training offered in the field of ecology/digital education with the aim of developing and “achieving” the goals of the 2030 agenda. In summary: we are familiar with and make use of innovative technologies as an important aid to search solutions in the fight against climate change. Students with no experience of their European peers who have never ‘experienced’ the daily lives of their peers, have developed a European consciousness by working towards the same goal thanks to the opportunity offered to them by the EU. Main requirements: Train teachers to help students develop new and innovative skills by effectively using technology and knowledge to create models/products as solutions in the fight against climate change; Promote intercultural knowledge by fostering a common European identity to overcome prejudices and establish friendly, collaborative relationships and open mindsets; Enable students to acquire knowledge about new technologies/energies and eco-friendly materials to propose innovations through the creation of environmentally friendly models; Actively involve institutions, local communities, and families.
