Objectives

The project was inclusive and aimed to answer all kinds of needs, from diversity to inclusion. It was addressed to the music learning those who came from disadvantaged backgrounds. It helped to build up a steady network of best-practices of teaching exchange among teachers and learning exchange among students to share their emotion and musical experience.

Background

The great advantage of the project was the fact that it proved that music can become the common language that throws obstacles and difficulties, so that even students with special needs and special abilities had the opportunity to participate and gain from this process not only in knowledge but also in experiences that are sometimes more important for their personal development. This common language was the best way to collaborate with students from Malta and Greece and at the same time restart socialization after the pandemic period. On a practical level, although there was already a choir in our school, its activity was limited to very specific internal school events, such as national holidays. This project gave our students the opportunity to enhance choral activity and play fr a large audience inside and outside the school and the country. Through this project, students had the opportunity to get to know students from other countries through the common language of music. This project was a success as students not only socialized with our partner countries but also kept in contact after the project ended. This helped the students to enhance valuable life skills while improving their character and personality.
