Objectives

The Erasmus + KA1 youth exchange E+ YEA: “Youth Environmental Awareness project” aims at promoting sustainability by increasing environmental awareness among youth. A group of 30 international participants from Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Greece, and the Netherlands, along with a group leader, explored the biodiversity of the Grappa Massif, a recently designated UNESCO Biosphere Reserve - MAB Programme in Italy thanks to the Youth Exchange organised by the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa. Through a set of specific activities, based on non - formal education, together with outdoor activities, the participants were able to discover the biodiversity of the area, to increase their soft skills such as empathy, teamwork and active listening thanks to, for example, outdoor team building activities. The main issues we wanted to address were: • developing international mobility opportunities for youth in the field of environmental conservation and preservation. • to teach the new generations to protect the natural environment and act more sustainably. • to raise awareness on environmental issues through outdoor activities, targeting a group of young people coming from different countries in Europe to have a positive impact on preserving the nature of Europe. Through a set of specific activities, based on formal education, together with outdoor activities, the participants will be able to discover the biodiversity of the area, to increase their soft skills thanks to, for example, team building activities in the woods, to listen to the stories of the naturerelated workers and to learn about the indigenous species of animals and plants.
