Environmental pollution is now the biggest problem present throughout the world and therefore also in our beloved Calabria, the main cause lies in the eternal conflictual relationship between human activities with enormous economic interests, and the environment with the need to preserve its ecosystem. The conservation of nature and biodiversity and the sustainable use of resources are currently recognized as priorities to be pursued in environmental policies, in order to anticipate, prevent and attack the causes of the loss of biological diversity at the source. Man has believed for a long time that the planet was a reserve of resources to be exploited and, on this assumption, he has built a culture and an economy based on the defacement of the planet's natural resources. The defense of the environment therefore takes on strategic importance and we all place a lot of confidence in the agreements reached at the two major events held a short distance away a few months ago, namely the G20 and COP26. And therefore, much is being done by the world leaders, so much will have to be done by the multinationals who lead the way in pollution with their activities, but much remains to be done also by us individual citizens who, with our small daily gestures, must contribute to the resolution of this big problem. And so, spurred by all this, we created this project precisely to be part of the change starting from the territory that surrounds us in order to gradually build the "good quality" of our future. Thanks to "guys, what are we waiting for?", our desire for change on environmental protection has been transmitted to our peers, other organizations, institutions, companies, etc. by raising everyone's awareness, we are united and even stronger in this fight, we have managed to create a common conscience that looks at the environment as a great resource that must be safeguarded. The activities that were carried out had as their objectives: - increasing awareness of the environment and its sustainability at both a local and national level; - the restoration of optimal conditions of the local landscape, river and coastal environment; - the protection and management of green areas and river waters; - it made us reflect on the importance of adopting correct behaviors in daily life; - the valorization and defense of the territory; - reflection on the importance of discussion for the creation of civic, environmental and territorial awareness; - comparison with young people from other European countries taking inspiration from their ideas; - the promotion of cultural diversity, intercultural and social dialogue; - they have made young people more responsible, more confident in themselves and masters of their own future; - all participants increased their sense of collaboration and linguistic properties.
