Objectives

“Youth 4 Inclusion: FACE THE CONFLICTS” was a project promoted by Comune di Mandanici, built in partnership with different European countries. It involved youth organizations and public body coming from Italy, Spain, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Slovakia and Latvia, with purpose to strength the sense of belonging to Europe and the multicultural dialogue. The project was held in Mandanici (Italy) from 7 to 12 March 2023. The Youth Exchange focused on the concept of human rights as a primitive concept, the rights of freedom, solidarity, and the role of volunteering as founding values of the EU, giving to the young people a greater awareness and understanding of the tools to act so that human rights are understood and promoted at all levels of society, especially in a moment particularly dangerous for the Ukraine and peace in Europe cause the attempted of annexation by Russian Federation. The objectives of the project were in line with the priorities of Erasmus Plus Programme 2021 - 2027: - Educate young people, using a non-formal working methodology, developing, with the support of group leaders, facilitators and peer education methodologies, social and relational skills, aimed at experimenting non-formal work techniques that favor the inclusion of young people, non-discrimination, mutual respect, and empathy. - Develop cooperation between participants belonging to different ethnic groups to assume solidarity and respect for each other, with a view to intercultural dialogue, respect for minorities, human rights, collaboration, the overcoming of stereotypes and prejudices. - Strengthen the sense of belonging to the EU among the participants and the opportunities it represents especially in emergency situations, through the sharing of thoughts and ideas, fostering the strong European dimension, involving the emerging citizens of the Europe of the future. - Ensure among young people attitudes aimed at universal respect for human rights, democracy, freedom to express themselves and their thoughts, instilling in young people the awareness that human rights, if respected, break down differences and guarantee dignity and allow peaceful coexistence and intercultural dialogue. - Develop and strengthen personal, social, and civic skills, develop critical thinking and creativity, improve tolerance, and become active and supportive European citizens. - Promote European youth mobility projects and Erasmus Plus programme as sources of intercultural learning and empowerment especially for young people with fewer opportunities. - Supporting participation in volunteering programs among young people in Europe, by implementing a focus on the European Solidarity Corps which has now become the main tool of volunteering in Europe through which solidarity and civic commitment can be concretely experienced.
