The COVID emergency has brought significant changes in the digital dimension of our lives, but above all in the habits and behaviors of adolescents and young people in the online space. The increase in the use of smartphones and social media has inevitably led to greater exposure to harmful phenomena such as bullying, hate speech and fake news. Continuous exposure to alarming news causes anxiety and uncertainty about the future, especially for adolescents who are particularly vulnerable. We believe that this difficult post-pandemic period urgently reveals the need for young people to acquire stress resilience skills and to be particularly conscious in using digital tools. Taking into account the context described above, implementing the project, our general objectives were: • Provide young people with a deeper understanding and knowledge of the impact of the pandemic on young people's online behavior and habits; • Provide young people with skills that help them understand the importance of the conscious use of digital tools in the pandemic era and analyze the phenomena of bullying, hate speech, fake news and their impact on the mental health of young people and intervene for its prevention; • Provide an opportunity for exchange of views and collaboration of young people, as well as a platform for safe dialogue on the project topic. Based on the general objectives, we identified a specific objective: to organize an exchange for 30 young people (including six from five EU countries) on the conscious use of digital tools and mental health. This exchange aimed to provide a safe space for dialogue on the influence of digital tools on mental health in the Covid era, as well as to provide young people with deeper knowledge and skills so that they can understand and unpack the connection between online and health mental. The project themes focused on: ability to filter and verify news and information on the internet and identify fake news; ability to understand the phenomena of hate speech, bullying and discrimination online and act for its prevention.
