Objectives

The training course "Theatre for education” was created with the aim to attract the attention of youth workers to the importance of soft skills, offer them the opportunity to explore and experience new methods, tools and techniques created to foster these skills and promote integration and solidarity among youth workers and young people through the use of education theater and Theatre of Oppressed. This TC provided the participants with the necessary knowledge and innovative tools for soft skills development through application of ToO that they are able to use in their daily work with youngsters from their communities. We used the theater as a tool for a social change, with focus on Forum, Image and Invisible Theater. Forum Theater is a very powerful tool for empowerment on different levels in a community as it brings attitudinal changes among the public members and also among the team members. This was an ambitious initiative because it included considerations related to different cultures where the methods could be used. With this project we provided reflections related to what can work or not in very different cultural settings. The main goal of the project reached was to increase the capacity of various youth organizations to raise the participation and involvement of young people in change and social transformation through the training for youth workers who developed basic competencies in forum theater method and educational theater. The following objectives were reached: -To develop and improve skills in non-formal education and performance methodology, in particular Theater of the Oppressed methods for youth workers; -To improve the knowledge of the youth workers on the topic of soft skills and their importance offering them the opportunity to explore, design and experience new methods and tools aimed at fostering these skills using applied drama methods; -To find new solutions to fight against youth unemployment in Europe; -To develop a network of Forum Theater multipliers in various regions of Europe; -To develop proactive attitudes among the partner NGO members and also among the beneficiaries of the partners; -To gain awareness of similarities and differences in social problems and kinds of oppression in different European countries; -To develop a sense of common responsibility for the future of their local communities as well as the whole global community.
