Through this project, we wanted to give participants the opportunity to have a mobility experience in order to acquire new knowledge and skills on issues such as social inclusion, non-discrimination, empowerment and European citizenship. Social inclusion is considered by our organisation as an all-encompassing and transversal priority and the basis of all the actions we carry out, our catchment area being essentially composed of young people with fewer opportunities. The Association works with young people with fewer opportunities (economic, social, linguistic and educational) who usually have no opportunities for mobility with their families and who are often unable to participate in school trips due to financial problems. In past years, young people who were encouraged to apply with DiscoverEU stated that they did not feel confident enough to go abroad without an accompanying figure. This target group's knowledge of Europe is very limited, often related only to what they learned at school, and the European Union appears to them as a distant and abstract entity. Moreover, the families they come from often have difficulties related to aspects of financial education that make it problematic to allocate their resources correctly, even if they have an income. The operators note that young people are often inclined to invest their first earnings completely in perishable goods and are not directed by their families to save or invest in training or mobility. This activity, therefore, allowed us to increase the mobility of young people through the guidance of the operators during the planning, preparation, implementation and follow-up phase in order to improve their intercultural, organisational, linguistic, environmental, digital and social skills, while working on elements of financial education and proper budget management. The activity was divided into two trips (TOP1 and TOP2) with the aim of involving a total of 10 18-year olds in two different years, so that the young people in the first group could, the following year, act as reference and support figures for the members of the second group. The organisation wanted to implement the project to help young people achieve the following objectives: Enable young people with fewer opportunities to access a mobility project, allowing them to take part in a European-wide growth and learning experience, contributing to their inclusion in society; To increase young people's organisational, linguistic and digital skills; To develop skills related to teamwork and cooperation; To develop skills related to communication in multicultural contexts; To foster awareness and reflection about one's own learning processes; Promoting awareness of mankind's impact on the environment and the correct behaviour to adopt in order to limit it.
