By implementing the project, we aimed to achieve the following: 1. The sharing of tools among three experienced international organizations and trainers to engage young people with disabilities using non-formal learning methods. 2. The definition and description of non-formal techniques accessible to people with disabilities to achieve intercultural knowledge, self-determination, and self-expression. 3. The creation of a best-practices guideline to support the organization of accessible and inclusive projects. 4. The training of 12 youth workers in the use of the developed method and enhancing their capacity to train a larger number of youth workers in this method. 5. The initiation of cooperation that will support international youth workers and organizations in the realization of projects and meetings accessible to people with disabilities.
The project aims to support the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in international projects and mobilities through sharing, exchanging, and learning tools. It seeks to provide support to organizations offering activities for young people with disabilities who lack experience in the Erasmus+ program and non-formal educational methods. By involving three expert organizations, the project will create a series of tools for other organizations. It also addresses the needs for self-representation and self-determination among local target groups of youth with disabilities. Participation in international projects enhances self-representation and self-determination, allowing individuals to express their expectations and preferences, ensuring full participation and active inclusion in the community. Self-determination refers to the set of rights of each individual to take charge of, control, and take responsibility for their own lives. In conclusion, there is a high need for specific training on the inclusion of young people with intellectual disabilities. The project will develop this training, test it with local target groups, and share it in both local and international activities.
