Background

VšĮ "Debesu sala" is primarily an organization of learners. The teachers and educators of the organization understand the importance of continuous learning. Special attention is paid to the development and consolidation of the general competencies of the teacher. One of the most important general competencies is the competence of learning to learn. Learning to learn is an instrument that helps to better assimilate all the content of learning subjects, it is the key that helps to "unlock" better understanding, acquisition and use of learning subjects. A teacher who understands the essence of learning to learn can become a mentor from a teacher. The activity of a mentor is most suitable in adult education. For this process and role project activities are intended to be understood. Adult teachers of the organization aim to become mentors, acquire the necessary competences, knowledge and skills. After acquiring the competencies of a mentor, the employees of the organization will be able to actively participate in the life of the local community, which can gradually become a community of continuous learning. This is the purpose of the organization's activities.
