Background

Joniškis "Aušras" gymnasium is an educational institution that is constantly looking for innovations and aims to provide students with an education that meets their needs. Over the course of several years, significant changes took place in the gymnasium: part of the educational spaces was renovated, the school modernization project was completed, which allowed the equipment of part of the classrooms to be renewed, and the virtual environment of distance learning was adopted. These changes in the gymnasium led to the need to update the professional skills of teachers, which are necessary to apply the latest innovative work methods based on the use of ICT in the educational process, to create such a learning atmosphere that would allow students to successfully achieve academic and creative goals. It was expected that the experience gained in the project would allow teachers to use the created educational spaces and equipment in the classrooms more effectively and would create the best conditions for the development of both teachers and their students. This year, the gymnasium became a member of the Lithuanian Millennium Schools Project.
