The project aimed to achieve higher quality of teaching and learning, paying great attention to lesson effectiveness, seeking more effective ways to motivate learning, and strengthening the development, assessment and self-assessment of competencies by fostering responsibility for one's own learning.Currently, a major challenge to the implementation of the gymnasium's strategic goals is the preparation of teachers to work in line with the principles of inclusive education, as the number of students experiencing educational difficulties is increasing in the educational institution. This was a priority in the project "patrAUKli mokykla" (eng: "Inclusive School"). We aimed to find even more methods that would help to learn how to identify and understand students' needs, establish connections with them; new, modern tools for classroom management, in order to involve all students in the learning process as much as possible. By participating in international trainings, we aimed to gain international experience, adopting best practices in these areas and sought to find new, modern ICT tools that would be effective in organizing the educational process and used to help all learners in an inclusive educational environment.
Panevėžys District Velžys Gymnasium implements primary, basic and secondary education programs, educates civic-minded, conscious students with strong values, prepared for purposeful activities. The vision of the gymnasium is "School of Success and Leadership", and its mission is "A modern, learning, unique community that helps students to get to know the world and find their place in it". In pursuit of the vision and mission, teachers improve their professional competence, cooperation in the international arena, learn foreign languages, raise their qualifications in IT, psychosocial and inclusive education, receive feedback and participate in teacher dissemination hours. The growing number of students in the gymnasium, especially students with special educational needs, worries the teachers - how to distribute attention to all students during the lesson, ensuring the necessary assistance that meets the needs of their education. For this purpose, the project "patrAUKli mokykla" was prepared.
