The focus of modern pedagogy is the child and the result of his learning. When implementing the project, we looked for ways to improve the quality of education, how to efficiently and comprehensibly convey the material to children of national minorities and children from abroad with special educational needs of any age. We sought to familiarize ourselves with the educational methodology of other countries, we sought ways to apply innovations to the teaching of our subject, while also imparting individualized teaching. Educators participating in training or work monitoring activities sought to improve their complex problem-solving, emotional, cognitive flexibility, critical thinking, decision-making, coordination of actions with others, and general and professional competencies.
There are 800 students whose native language is not Lithuanian studying at Klaipėda Uostamiestis pro-gymnasium. Among them are 35 students with special needs and 40 children who arrived or returned from abroad this year. Teachers face challenges, how to include such students in class activities, what teaching methods or methods to choose for effective work. All project activities were focused on inclusive education, student assistance, application of new teaching methods while improving student assistance, promoting his personal progress.
